CORPORAL V

Cpl. Valentine, better known as Corporal V., is a rogue member of the U.S. Marines H.E.C.U. who works to help the scientists trapped in Black Mesa following the Resonance Cascade.They are/were a member of Teams Nice, originating from a joke about both them and Forzen being Canadians.
(I will fight you on this. Forzen is not French, he is Quebecois /j)

Dr. Valentine is a relatively new member of the Black Mesa Science Team, working in Advanced Biological Research studying Xenian Flora.They are not very well acquainted with many of their coworkers at the time of the Resonance Cascade, later meeting the Science Team and befriending them (albeit with some difficulty).

GAME AU

ABOUT

There are several possibilities for a "Game AU" version of Valentine, but there are two "main" ones I go with, outside of the idea that Cpl. V/Dr. Valentine exists in the "canon" version of HLVRAI being a game already.The first one has Valentine as a player of the Half Life VR: AI game, and the second has them as a part of the games programming/as a rogue NPC.

PLAYER AU

In this AU, Val is a player of Valve's early access version of Half Life VR, similar to Gordon.
They become trapped within the game through means beyond their control, and end up tagging along with the Science Team, trying to convince Gordon that they are, in fact, a Real Human Person like him, and not just a self aware AI.
Depending on how they've played up to this point, this could go really well, or really, really badly.

"NPC" AU

In this AU, Val is a part of the Half Life VR games programming, existing as a scrapped filler character/NPC. Whenever a new game is started, they fill in wherever needed, whether that is a scientist, a security guard, a marine, etc.
Through some flaw in their programming, they become self aware like the others, knowing quite well that they aren't supposed to be.
